These offerings were presented with gratitude and blessed with prayer, so that they may serve the Church in the beauty and reverence of the Divine Liturgy.

Life, Renewal and the Hope of the Resurrection

In the Armenian Apostolic Church, green carries the meaning of life and renewal, hope and promise, the rebirth of nature, Christ’s Resurrection and new life through Him, love and spiritual growth. This meaning is especially connected with Green Sunday, Ganach Giragi, celebrated after Easter, when the renewed greenery of spring becomes a visible sign of the new life and hope brought by the Resurrection.

The Church Censer: Prayer Rising Before God

The censer is one of the most familiar and reverent vessels used in the worship of the Church. As incense is offered during the sacred services, its fragrance fills the sanctuary and its rising smoke calls the faithful to prayer, repentance and thanksgiving. The censer given by Nora Tickner will now become part of the liturgical life of Holy Trinity, joining the prayers of the Church with a visible sign of devotion before God.

“May these sacred gifts adorn the worship of the Church and lift our hearts toward the risen Christ.”

To God be the glory, now and always. Amen.
