As part of his pontifical visit to Eastern Prelacy Armenian communities in the U.S., His Holiness Catholicos Aram I arrived in Worcester on October 9, 2024. At Sourp Yerrortutyun Church, he was warmly received by the parish led by V. Rev. Fr. Ardag Arabian.
A traditional “Hrashapar” ceremony was held, with many faithful and interfaith guests attending, including Archbishop Robert J. McManus of Worcester. Following the ceremony, Prelate Arch. Anoushavan Tanielian invited His Holiness to speak.
Catholicos Aram I expressed gratitude for the welcome and noted the presence of other church leaders as a sign of ecumenical unity. He emphasized collaboration, faith, and the importance of staying close to the Church.
The faithful then received his blessing through the “Achahampuyr” tradition. A luncheon followed, featuring speeches, student performances, and further remarks by His Holiness, who praised Fr. Ardag and urged community engagement.
On October 10, His Holiness met with local officials and church organizations before continuing his visit to Boston.
